Hide faces, number plates, names and screens: drag boxes over them and pixelate, blur or cover each one, then download a file with nothing recoverable underneath.
Lets you draw any number of rectangles on a photo and replaces the pixels inside each one. Pixelate shrinks the region to a handful of blocks and scales them back up, so a face becomes a mosaic; Blur applies a Gaussian blur of the radius you choose; Solid bar paints a flat colour. The result is rendered as a new image, so the download holds only the censored pixels and none of the original data or metadata. A box for a face is placed for you when a photo loads, ready to be dragged into position.
A 4032 × 3024 photo of a car outside a house: one 620 × 140 box over the number plate with 24 px blocks turns it into a 26 × 6 mosaic that cannot be read, and a second 380 × 380 box over a child's face in the window with a 30 px blur leaves a soft, natural-looking patch. Saved as JPEG at quality 90 the file is about 2.1 MB, and the camera's GPS position is gone from it. For a screenshot of a chat at 1170 × 2532, two solid black bars over the names take under a minute.
Use it before posting photos of other people, children, cars, house numbers, ID documents, or screens with names and account details. For a blur across the whole picture or a soft background, Blur Image is the better tool, and for mosaic on an entire image use Pixelate Effect. If the sensitive part is at the edge, Crop Image may be simpler and leaves the rest untouched. Do not rely on a light effect for anything that matters: below about 8 px of blur or block size, text and faces are still recognisable.
Each region has its own style and strength. For Pixelate the strength is the block size in pixels of the original image; for Blur it is the blur radius. The chips jump to 8, 16, 24, 40 and 60. Bar colour applies to every solid bar. The four number fields position the selected box exactly, and Duplicate makes a copy offset by 30 px for a row of similar items. Apply style to all copies the selected region's style to the rest. The preview shows the live result under the boxes; switch to Result to see it clean.
Can a blur or pixelation be reversed? A heavy one cannot: the pixels inside the box are replaced by averages and the original values are gone from the file. A light blur of a few pixels over text can sometimes be guessed at, so use at least 16 px blocks or a 20 px blur on anything sensitive, or a solid bar, which leaves nothing.
Does the download still contain the location or the original photo? No. The file is rebuilt from the pixels you see, so camera metadata including GPS is dropped, and there is no hidden copy of the original layer, unlike some editors that stack an effect over the picture.
How do I censor several faces? Drag a box on each one; every drag on empty photo adds a region. Each region has its own style and strength, or select one and use Apply style to all. Arrow keys nudge the selected box and Delete removes it.
Is the photo uploaded to be processed? No. The boxes are painted by your browser on your own device. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and still download the result.
