Add a soft coloured halo around a logo, cut-out or photo. Choose the radius, colour and intensity, keep the transparent background, and download as PNG.
Draws the image several times with a blurred, coloured shadow behind it, then paints the sharp original on top. On a transparent PNG the halo follows the outline of the shape, so a logo or a cut-out person gets a neon rim. On a JPEG, which has no transparent pixels, the glow appears only around the rectangular border of the picture. With Expand canvas on, the output is grown by twice the radius on every side so the halo is not cut off.
A 512 × 512 transparent PNG logo with a 20 px white glow at intensity 1.0 becomes 592 × 592 and about 60 KB, with a soft halo that reads well on dark web backgrounds. The same logo with a 60 px cyan glow at intensity 2.5 becomes 752 × 752 with a solid neon ring, the kind used for gaming thumbnails. A 1600 × 1200 JPEG photo with a 40 px black glow at 1.5 gets a soft dark border, which works as a drop shadow when placed on a white page.
Use it for logos on dark hero sections, stream overlays, sticker-style cut-outs, product images that need to lift off a background, and text you have rendered as a PNG. For a glowing subject inside a photo, first remove the backdrop with Remove Background; otherwise the glow can only sit around the outer edge. If you want the picture itself to look dreamy or softened rather than outlined, Blur Image at a small amount is the right tool.
Radius is the blur of the halo in pixels; the visible spread is about twice that. Intensity stacks extra glow layers, three per whole step, so 0.3 is faint and 3.0 is almost solid. Glow colour takes any colour; the swatches are the common neon choices. Expand canvas adds transparent margin so nothing is clipped; turn it off to keep exact dimensions. Output defaults to PNG because the margin is transparent; choosing JPEG fills that margin with the Background colour.
Why is the glow only around the edge of my photo? The picture is a JPEG or an opaque PNG, so there is no transparency for the glow to follow. Cut the subject out with Remove Background first and the halo will trace its outline.
Why did the output get bigger? Expand canvas adds transparent padding of twice the radius on each side so the halo is not clipped. Switch it off in the Glow section if you need the original size.
Can I make the glow stronger without making it wider? Yes. Raise Intensity and keep Radius the same; more layers make the same halo brighter and more opaque.
What format keeps the transparency? PNG or WebP. JPEG has no transparency, so the margin and any see-through areas are filled with the Background colour from the Output section.
